Familiar stone, Jerusalem street corner, playing with construction materials, a fence, and a pine tree, the fundamental elements of a very Israeli memory. The concreteness of body and place emanating from Boaz Noy’s and Yoav Fisch’s works dialogues with abstraction, purification, and disintegration.
In both artists’ works, transience serves as a cluster that holds reality. In a moment, the mass and color may disintegrate back into some initial, raw core. A small unit, one able to spread and navigate, will begin to form again; from there it will join another mass, a cluster of a new reality.
