For five years Nira Pereg filmed at the Holy Sepulcher, Christianity’s holiest site. Characteristically evading the obvious and the familiar, Pereg’s poetic, sensitive gaze is turned towards the unusual and the overlooked. The exhibition’s title alludes to the compound’s complex division between various Christian denominations, which prohibits any violation of the status quo – even when it comes to the right to clean the site.
