Residency with the residents

Artist: New artworks by: Masha Zusman · Shimon Pinto and others
Resident Artists: Michael Zupraner · Aharon Fine · Maya Pasternak
Curator: Guy Briller · Matan Israeli · Yuval Yairi · Chamutal Wachtel · Irit Manor

This is the inception of a new hosting project for artists to become acquainted with the neighborhood space on the seamline, reside and work there for several months. The Muslala Group’s infrastructure is there to support the resident artists, facilitating work in the workshop and a familiarity with the complex history of the seamline. Initial works and first impressions by the artists in residence are on exhibit during Manofim, as well as new artworks shown on the painting display boards and in the photography lane.

The Muslala Terrace: An Urban Oasis

Muslala is a nonprofit organization established in 2009 by artists, residents, and community activists of Musrara neighborhood in Jerusalem. Muslala Project invites visitors to explore and research mainly along the seam area of Jerusalem. We believe in exhibiting art on the streets and in public spaces, particularly in the fascinating and complex area where East meets West. The project invites the public to participate in activities that take place throughout the year, such as the "urban art tracks", the Muslala community workshop, the communal garden, and the meeting point. Guided tours by members of the group are available and adapted to groups and individuals.
