The Jerusalem Forest

Yaakov Israel is one of the last field camera operators in Israel. The large format landscapes portray in great detail one of Jerusalem’s famous urban wildlife sites. The large prints unveil the story of this aging forest planted around the city after the War of Independence. Israel captures the layers and undercurrents that were exposed after the recent snowstorm and the frequent forest fires, unearthing the secrets of the Jerusalem Forest.
Jerusalem Bird Research Station was established in 1994 - by a group of nature lovers adopted birding site, the last remaining sites in the city. Gail Rubin Memorial, was born in -18.4.1938 New - York, studied photography and was an excellent nature photographer. Late '60s immigrated to Israel.
