Ronen Siman Tov’s works express his inner world and the external world around him. With different artistic means and materials (black ink, oil colors and watercolor) he creates a world that seems to have been shaped around his figure: a solitary tent to dwell in, a mythical expanse paved with stones and severed statues, a fragile ladder to hold on to, arise and allow the angels to descend. The images that appear in his works are drawn from Hebrew Scriptures and prayers as well as the history of art, like Giotto’s fresco paintings. By so doing, Siman Tov imbues painting once again with narrative and allegory in their refined essence.
