Bright as day, dark as night

Opening: 21.10.21 - Closing: 19.11.21

Artist: Reut Yeshayahu
Curator: Avi Sabah

How much smoke can the lungs absorb? What weight should be placed on anxiety? How much darkness can the eye contain?

Reut Yeshayahu examines the limits and limitations of the body and the hidden forces that leave marks on it, connecting earthly elements with questions about the blows of fate. Yeshayahu’s drawings and sculptures contain a trap, on the one hand they seem to protect and guard the body and on the other hand, they push it to the limit of its ability and beyond.

Barbur

Barbur is a place for art in Jerusalem and an ongoing forming project. It was founded in July 2005 by five friends, Jerusalem-based emerging artists working collectively in an independent nonprofit space for art and artists, in the aim of offering a platform for critical debate that addresses social issues while developing projects with local communities.
