At an age of undermined world-orders, the exhibition seeks to examine the relationship and tension between the raw and the natural versus the cultured and domestic. Through artworks that center on different invasive animals, the exhibition offers a different approach to the concept of aesthetics, while also introducing questions about themes of attraction and repulsion, territory and distancing. It is fascinating to examine the significant role given specifically to arthropods and vertebrates in Israeli art; to view them through the eyes of artists within an exhibition space, as a way of coping with the threatening and the unfamiliar.
