Just when we had become convinced that Newtonian physics had reduced nature to a series of differential equations, we discovered a principle of uncertainty at the core of matter. Substance and time have once again become a mystery. We have learned to manipulate matter and energy with unprecedented efficiency but the mystery remains. The horizon is where the eye encounters infinity; the infinity that cannot be reduced or fully understood. But it can be observed and it can be contemplated. The photographs by Neil Folberg, Michael Kenna and Asaf Kliger presented in this exhibition all contemplate the horizon.
