Haim Parnas, a designer, lives and works in Jerusalem. The exhibition features a series of wall objects and sculptures made of a found raw material – brass shell casings found in Israel’s open areas.
Parnas preserves objects, as well as the knowledge of their formation process, the history of their material processing, work traditions and use of physical and conceptual energy. The objects he collects are transformed into the raw materials for the creation of new objects. His gaze is simultaneously turned back in time, and forwards towards pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation. Is man shaped by the landscapes of his motherland? Is creation propelled by force of making or is it a passive outcome of the reality in which we live?
