About the artist:
Kidnapper, Disney princess, luxury goods smuggler, punk stripper, chicken smuggler, crook, pizza delivery driver, Marxist nail stylist, clandestine street seller… Florence Jung invents characters and situations that seep into exhibitions where no one can unravel reality from its staging. Everything is true, she says, but nothing proves this: the artist does not document and erases her tracks, turning her work into rumor and rumors into works.
Florence Jung lives in Biel, Bienne, Switzerland.
Her last projects were for the parallel events of Manifesta 11 in Zurich, and for the Swiss Art Awards exhibition in Basel for Art Basel 2016.
She exhibited in numerous institutions and off-spaces in Switzerland and abroad including the Kunsthalle 3000, Vienna, Centre Culturel Suisse, Paris, Random Institute, ABC Berlin, Oslo10, Basel and Helmhaus, Zurich, The Aeschlimann-Corti Förderpreis (2015), the Swiss Performance Art Award (2013), the Werkstipendium of Zurich City (2013) and the Schweizer Werkbund Förderpreis (2012) awarded her work.
