Making Time Stop

Opening: 28.10.21 at 19:00 - Closing: 28.2.22

Artist: Nomi Tannhauser
Curator: Ronit Bekker Blankovsky

After years of exploring politics, identity, and feminism, Nomi Tannhauser turns her attention closer to home. Tannhauser, who came to Israel as a child, has been fully assimilated into Israeli society, but the “other” and the experience of the outsider remained central to her work. She now returns to the childlike and the playful through works in different mediums and examines her domestic space, the passage of time, and her relationship with her family.

Plasticine on cardboard workshop for children and their parents – Cost of 5 NIS per participant and pre-registration (number of places is limited)

Thursday, 28.10 at 5:30 PM

Works made from plasticine are among the trademarks of Nomi Tannhauser. This medium serves her to create her works by using techniques of spreading, smearing, blending and sticking the material and thereby creating a surprising and colorful effect. By using this material’s special qualities, she succeeds in delving into questions of temporariness, mortality, control and the lack of control and there by blurring the boundaries between fine art and popular art. During the workshop Nomi will describe her work in plasticine and afterwards all participants will have a chance to make their own artistic creations.
