The Artists’ Studios – Art Cube gallery is proud to present the first solo exhibition in Israel for NY-based artist Olaf Breuning. Born in 1970 in Switzerland, Breuning is one of the most fascinating and celebrated young artists in the international art scene. Working with photography, sculpture, drawing and video, his works address various visual manifestations of culture around the world in a very loose, but highly observant, acute, and intense manner.
Olaf Breuning’s stay in Jerusalem is part of a new international Artist Residency Program in the Artists’ Studios, Jerusalem, supported by the Jerusalem Foundation. The exhibition at Art Cube gallery will include a new series of staged photographs created by the artist in collaboration with students from Bezalel’s Fine Arts Department.
The exhibition at the Artists’ Studios will be followed by a comprehensive show of Breuning at the Haifa Museum of Art, due to open in November 2014.
