“Onwards/Over” plays upon Israeli symbols and their meanings, unraveling constructs etched in the nation’s collective consciousness. This is a new language hybridizing past and contemporary events, religious and secular sanctity, ideal and real, and myth and its breakdown. The viewer must stop and take the time to decode it in order to continue onwards/over here, instead of marching on the spot.
