Artist:
Shraga Weil, Shmuel Katz
Curator:
Ron Bartos, Tali Tamir
From the moment Shraga Weil and Shmuel Katz first met at HaShomer HaTzair in Budapest, the two artists were soulmates, colleagues, and even shared similar worldviews. Weil and Katz’s artistic language also have many commonalities, and the two even walked a similar professional-artistic path in their public activity. In 1953 they were sent by the Kibbutz Artzi and the HaShomer HaTzair movement to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The exhibition presents their work from their days there, through their journey across Europe, and their return to Israel.
