Fluid Transitions: On Sigal Tsabari’s Etchings
Syncopation in music is a surprising change in rhythm, the playing of a note off-beat. Sigal Tsabari’s
prints are similarly composed of delicate notes and emphases, whose subtle and surprising clarity
and presence occupy a singular place in her oeuvre. These works distill elusive moments that do
not appear in her oil paintings, but are rather captured through the linear power of drawing and the
endless range of variations made possible by the medium of etching.
