Frustration overcomes us when our desire for dialogue encounters an absolute lack of understanding. Sometimes it seems we’re doomed to talk to ourselves, our own voices echoing off the walls. We isolate ourselves in self-defense and despair, close ourselves in, as if the wall were already inside us. Maybe it’s time to acknowledge it, observe it, try to soften it. Maybe then we’ll learn how to talk to the wall.
