Elinor Carucci’s exhibition opens up a new season of Musrara’s International Program, where influential and leading artists from around the world are invited to visit Jerusalem and exhibit their works.
Elinor directs her photographic gaze to a personal space that is familial, intimate and bold. She touches the flesh, delving deep into our consciousness, disturbing our peace through her closest of family relationships – er father, her mother, her grandparents, her husband Eran, and her children.
Her photographic narrative emerges from her personal process of growth, from a child, to a wife and mother of twins. Her gaze penetrates deep into the family circle, and it is of no consequence for us to know whether the scene was staged or whether it actually occurred, for they are revelations of her inner world.
