Dear Manofim followers, In light of the difficult events taking place here, the Manofim Festival is currently suspended. We are constantly attentive to the gathering guidelines and current events and will update with more details as soon as we can. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost their loved ones, to the wounded, the missing. The pain is great and unrelenting. We wish complete healing for body and soul and hope that peace will soon return to our region. Take care of yourselves, The festival team.
Manofim Festival is the largest, most established, and influential annual event celebrating contemporary art in Jerusalem with thousands of visitors and participants every year.
The independent enterprise, now in its 15th year, takes place over five days and is the product of the cooperation between more than 30 galleries of contemporary art, leading Israeli cultural centers, and hundreds of independent artists and creators.
The festival will host the opening of several new exhibitions as well as a variety of special events and performances that have been uniquely scheduled as part of it. Manofim Festival, established and directed by Jerusalem-based artists Lee He Shulov and Rinat Edelstein, uses art from various disciplines to address the human, public, historical, and contemporary complexity of Jerusalem and is spread across different areas and unique exhibition sites around the city.
As every year, the central event of the festival aims to surface and discuss foundational issues concerning Jerusalem. This years’ event, إرتياء Believe להאמין, will take place on Mt. Zion. The event will present a rich tapestry of beliefs, cultures and narratives that have co-existed for millennia in the complex and sacred place to all three monotheistic faiths. ‘Believe’ invites the audience to experience the deep ties between faith and art in one of the most fascinating places in the world, through the prism of the unique performances and works created especially for the festival.
