As part of “Photopoetics,” the exhibition “Yitzhak Yerushalmi” features photographs by Yitzhak Yerushalmi, a self-taught photographer, who as a teenager in the 1960s and 1970s photographed family and friends at Morasha neighborhood, Ramat Hasharon. Although steeped in the zeitgeist, capturing the country’s formative years, these are essentially portrait photographs, detached from a specific time and place, embodying the view of an insider who is also a stranger; a youth who revisits the place he came from and explores modes of being and possible connections through the camera.
