Elements | So that the Skies will Join

The exhibition “What’s Left” is a site-specific installation created for the spaces in Studio of Her Own Gallery. In the entrance, a large brown paper painting clings to the wall like a second skin depicting a landscape painting of Kibbutz Be’eri. In the gallery space, rows of paper sculptures simulate pieces of furniture from the kibbutz, recalling items cataloged after a disaster, adding a tragic dimension to the work, and echoing the sense of loss and exclusion since Oct. 7th. A lament for the kibbutz ranging from the personal to the collective, touching on questions of place and time, telling the viewer the story of the disaster in chilling silence.

“An Island of Uncertainty” is a site-specific installation which at first glance, recalls a “room of wonders” with display cabinets spread throughout the dark room. But a further look reveals a work that has a dimension of illusion and fiction but at the same time corresponds with the present that we have been experiencing in recent months. A world composed of vessels, broken down in different ways and at different levels, some remain standing but all damaged, an allegory for the everyday reality where we are all crumbled and cracked.
