Deluge

In the performance ‘Deluge,’ musician and sound artist Or Aloni performs original songs in electronic arrangements. The musical world the songs inhabit exists at a point between abstraction and cohesion, between destabilization and grasp. At its center is a single figure through whom voices and stories resonate, dripping onto the stage. The live, sung voice breaks apart, replicates, and changes form, resisting the unity of a single narrator. Working with recorded material and live electronic processing, a sense of multiple voices and multiple numbers is created. Anecdotes from a world that is falling apart, a world covered in sand and dust; the songs are testimonies to stories that never happened and are happening all the time.
