Festival Closing Event | Jimi Prasad Orchestra feat. Avishai Cohen & Rejoicer
Saturday, 18.07.26 | 20:00 Doors open | 21:00 Show starts
Bustana – rooftop of the Art Cube Artists’ Studios, Haoman st. 26, 4th floor, Talpiyot, Jerusalem
The Jimmy Prasad Orchestra was born from a meeting between three creators: Jimmy Prasad, Avishai Cohen, and Rejoycer. They gathered with them a unique team of musicians and formed a group that moves freely between genres, traditions, and worldviews. The music, written by all three of them, is the result of a deep dive into sound, alongside the attempt to find a way to breathe and float above and out of a reality that wants to close in, but without disconnecting from it.
Avishai Cohen is one of the most respected trumpet players in the world, and among other things, he works with the prestigious ECM label. He has played with top musicians and has a distinctive, unique sound that influences an entire generation. Rejoicer is one of the figures who shaped the beats movement in Israel, a co-founder of the Raw Tapes label, and is signed to the American label Stones Throw. He leads various ensembles like Buttering Trio and is an expert at connecting electronic music with funk, soul, hip-hop, ambient, and jazz into a single language. Around them, a very special group of musicians has gathered for the Orchestra’s singular piece: Yonatan Albalak on guitar, Yonatan Levy on bass, Nir Manzur on drums, Eyal Talmudi on wind instruments, and Romi Kopleman and Esther Valladares on cello.
At the closing performance of the Manofim Festival, on the rooftop of the Art Cube Artists’ Studios, the Orchestra invites the audience into a space of exploration and awareness from which music is born. This is an event that aims to turn the Artists’ Studios rooftop into a meeting point of consciousness, where music serves as a bridge between different parts of the city, and through it, invites us to close the days of the festival with a shared and expansive breath.
