Hole in the Heart

Daniella Meroz’s sculptural video installation Hole in the Heart turns Mamuta’s space into a grotesque play gym where playfulness and ritual are exaggerated and disrupted.

In her video works, just like in the exhibition space, Meroz creates areas of toys and play, worlds and spaces that combine the rules and structures of sports, politics, and carnival. Through inflating, exaggerating, and breaking things down, she examines the violence and twisted power relations built into these systems.
